Vassilios Skouris, born in in Thessaloniki, studied law at the Free University of Berlin. He received his doctorate and was a lecturer of constitutional and administrative law at the University of Hamburg. He has served as a Professor of Administrative Law at the Democritus University of Thrace and Professor of Public Law at the University of Bielefeld. He was elected as a Full Professor and is now an Emeritus Professor at the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Skouris became a judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union in and, from , served as its President. He is president of the Governing Board of the Centre of International and European Economic Law (CIEEL) in Thessaloniki. Since he serves as an affiliate professor at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg. Since May he is the Chairman of the Adjudicatory Chamber of FIFA Ethics Committee. At the same time, he continues his writing activity, participates in scientific events and gives lectures in Greece and abroad. Skouris has published a series of monographs and a large number of scientific papers in Greek, German, French and English.
